Getting Streamy-X

Has anyone had any issues getting streamy-x here?

I was told that the trunks were full and until there are more people getting internet I am on a waiting list.  One of the people at my work waited 2 years on a 'waiting list' and moved before he got internet.

Anyone possibly know someone at streamyx to help hurry up the process?

Hi,
You can try contacting Kamarudin with Streamyx. (Number available from Management office). I believe he is in charge of Ayuria Streamyx installations and helped me follow up and expedite my application.

I got my Streamyx connection about 3 months ago. When I applied, I was told they were waiting for a port. It was eventually connected about 2-3 weeks later due to constant follow up and requests.
I am now however trying to resolve some constant disconnection issues every 10-12 mins - which renders VPN, streaming video/audio unusable. Have escalated it through and hope that issue is resolved soon. I hear it effects all customers on their Mont Kiara exchange.

Do let me know how it goes.

Appreciate the advice.  I had already contacted Kamarudin to get both my phone and Streamyx installed.  The phone was installed almost the next day, it was great, Streamyx on the other hand...

Kamarudin told me that I should wait for a phone call from Streamyx and that his part in the process was now complete.  Ayuria management has called Streamyx on my behalf and was told the trunks were full as well.  The management have been quite helpful, but they have received the same results as me.

I actually just received a letter from Streamyx today stating that Streamyx is unavailable for my area and that I have been put on a waiting list and they will contact me when it becomes available.

For anyone looking at getting an unit in Ayuria where the internet is important for your job, or something you have decided that you cannot live without, please take this into consideration.  The waiting list could be a week, could be a month, could be a year, but I have the comfort of knowing that I am on a list.

If anything changes, I will post for those that are interested.

I will be moving into Ayuria soon and internet connection is my lifeline.  Pleaes advise how long did it take you to get Streamyx set up after registering with them in May.

Did you also experience the constant disconnection issue mentioned by "caretaker"?

Depends on your timing. If there happens to be available ports, your wait could be as short as a week. If there are no ports available, your wait could be 1-2 months for more ports to be allocated for the condo.

I believe a new batch of ports were assigned a month back though.

You will  still face the frequent disconnection and reconnection issue though. Its due to some incompatible streamyx switches. No permanent solution is available yet. Short term solution if you find the issue is too big for what you use the internet for (vpn, video streaming, file uploads) use their 'billion' brand of modem and you should be fine.

Hi Kiran,

All problems seem resolved now. DSL connections like streamyx (via your phone line) is still the best general option for condos.

Hi Kiran,

I just moved to Ayuria in November and I'm happy with my streamyx connection. I did not have to wait.

TM had an issue locating the condo in there system though, and I had to call them few times to push them. If you apply, give them phone no (fixed TM line) of a resident in the same block as yours to ensure they do not have the same issue as for me.

But once the phone line was installed, it only took about 3-4 working days to get the Internet connection.

Hi Kiran,

You can try reaching Khaidir at TM to assist you directly. You can get his number from the management office. Alternatively, let me know and i'll PM you.
